APRIL 5th MEETING MINUTES

The meeting was called to order at 7:05 PM

Police Report / Officer Butler
The East End and Columbia Tusculum - specifically Wilmer - has been hit hard via auto theft. Officers are ticketing your auto with a pink notice card to bring more awareness of auto theft going on. Game plan: Do not leave anything visible in your car.

Riverview East Report / Becky Wolf
Not able to make it this month.

Recreation Report / Oliver Wuensch
- Outdoor Adventure Camp - registration is open (sign up now only 15 spots available) 10-14 ages. Weeks of June 7, 2, July 26, August 2, 9
- Looking at options for a Composting Program: using CRC land in the garden district. Please respond to the following questionnaire. https://docs.google.com/forms/

Treasurer's Report / Jeff Stewart
Balance $14,711. NSP Fund Expenses for month: $2000. - Pendleton, $100 - Mt Carmel Church, $150. Flywheel for website)
Motioned and approved.

3East CDC Liaison / Matt Ackermann
- New rail line from the EE to City that the city will be purchasing and complete by 2022.
Funding support $3500. For Columbia Tusculum Business district $3500. Beautification Project for pots

NSP Report / Regina Moss
- NPS report proposal was sent out in a timely manner. No response from the city, final approval on April 7th.

Presidents Report / Craig Stanton
- Renter on Riverside “Trump flag” and "Biden hate flags" Free speech issue, nothing we can do.
- Regarding Last meeting: nothing on record from the issue related to Jeff Stewards house (and garage location in the back of the house. The building permit locates the garages in the front).
- Issues around voting validity: new sign in sheet for accountability and forward.

City of Cincinnati Parking Presentation / Team
Steve Pacella and Daniel Betts from the Cincinnati Recreation Commission (CRC) provided recommendations around the parking issues to compromise and meet the objects of the Garden District Plan approved by council. Steve has engage the following other departments:
- Office of Environment and Sustainability (OES)
- Department of Transportation & Engineering (DOTE)
- City of Cincinnati Planning
- Department of Community and Economic Development

- Katrina Gragston from the Department of Community and Economic Development spoke regarding the parking project that she has been working on with 3 East Business Association (3EBA) the last several years. Proposed was a new parking lot located at 260 Setchel with 39 parking spaces. 3EBA received funds for the proposed parking in 2020 and 2021 totalling- $150,000. The site location had challenges such as zoning and neighborhood support.

- Diego Jordan from the Department of Transportation Engineering, proposed an alternative: vertical parking lots along Babb Alley with 32 spaces. The proposal concept would need a private property exchange and doesn’t infringe on the Setchell gardens.

- Bryan Williams from DOTE spoke regarding paper right-away alleys. There are no plans for paper ally's

- Steve Johns, City Liaison addressed the Watson Parking Project which is a separate project

- There was no vote on the parking concept presented. However the city has requested an acceptance of the plan and to move forward with the process which will be addressed at the next meeting, May 3rd.

Work and learn sessions, 27 youth group with parents took gardening classes.
Gardening classes will begin again. Peter asked if someone could reach out to Joe Corkin regarding a lawnmower to use by the community. Matt Ackermann was to reach out to Joe.

- Mary Beth Wilker, Madam Secretary presented the new EEAC website. If anyone would like to add additional “East End History” please send information to Mary Beth: eastendcincy@gmail.com

- A recommendation to create a formal EEAC Membership that would include members and if they are residents, property owners or business owners.

- Steve Johns and Fawn Thompson are redoing the bylaws of the EEAC
